Lina Järnegard

Lina Järnegard (born 1979) is a composer, raised in Borkhult, Östergötland, and based in Gothenburg since 2005. She studied at the Gotland School of Composition, the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Lina primarily writes chamber music, with or without electronics, but also works with staged music such as theatre, performance, staged concerts, and similar forms. In 2010, she founded the Gothenburg-based performing arts ensemble Dråpera, which operates in the grey area between art forms. Lina is passionate about new notated music and about creating new opportunities for commissioned works and premieres.

Henrik Denerin

Henrik Denerin is active internationally as a composer of contemporary notated art music. His work often emphasizes exploration and an expansion of musical expression, for example by challenging the traditional relationship between notation and sound. He primarily composes chamber music, sometimes incorporating electronics. He has collaborated with and received commissions from several internationally leading ensembles, and his music has been performed across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. His works have been featured at numerous international festivals for contemporary music.

Ella Eriksson

Ella Eriksson (born 1997) is a composer based in Gothenburg, with roots in Hälsingland. She studied for two years at the Gotland School of Composition and, since the autumn of 2022, has been pursuing a degree in composition at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg under the guidance of Malin Bång and Esaias Järnegard. With a curious mind and inspiration from impressionism and expressionism, she explores timbre and texture within the modal world of harmony. Her style finds its strongest expression in contexts such as chamber ensembles, solo works, and duos or trios.

Marcus Lundberg

Marcus Lundberg (b.1995, Alingsås) is a Swedish composer based in Gothenburg and Arvika. He mainly writes for acoustic instruments, exploring fragmentary structures and subtleties of sound through sparse soundscapes. His compositions have been performed throughout Europe, Asia and the US.

Elsbeth Bergh

Elsbeth Bergh is a violist mostly active in the contemporary repertoire. Member of Kammarensemble Sonanza, Ensemble Makadam and Karlsson Barock. With projects such as Öppna musikaliska möten med barn, Klangbotten and Kontinent Dalsland festival for current music, she has brought Levande Musik's work out into the Västra Götaland region where collaboration with local actors enables artist residencies for musicians and composers. She also advocates for a well-equipped stage for experimental music in Gothenburg.

Gusten Aldenklint

Gusten Aldenklint has studied sound and music production, as well as a master’s degree in experimental composition at the Academy of Music and Drama. With a small production studio as his instrument, he explores sound and music in various roles and collaborations.

Nina de Heney

Double bass player and improvisation musician with many musical collaborations, also as a musician in collaboration with dance and interdisciplinary projects.

Liv Fridén

Liv Fridén is a flutist based in Gothenburg. She grew up in Roslagen and developed a passion for music at an early age. After studying at the Academy of Music and Drama, she has worked as a freelance musician with Gothenburg as her base. Liv performs a wide range of musical genres, including contemporary music, chamber music, progressive rock, folk music, and pop. With her versatility, she strives to discover every tonal color and explore the possibilities and musical roles of the flute.

Rei Munakata

Born in Yokohama Japan, Rei Munakata is a conductor and composer in the field of contemporary art music. With imaginative creativity, experimental curiosity, meticulous craftsmanship, and musical fluidity as his foundation, Rei Munakata conducts, composes and leads workshops for chamber musicians, ensembles, orchestras, instruments, and sound objects around the world. Since 2003, Rei has been the artistic director of the Curious Chamber Players Sweden, where each project is hand-sewn with love and filled with a passion for sonic adventures and explorations.

Emil Nilsson

Emil Nilsson is a composer and musician originally from Gästrikland, now based in Gothenburg. He primarily works with notated chamber music and has had performances in Sweden and across Europe.

Siri Landgren

Siri Landgren (born 1983) is an artist and writer. She is trained in composition but currently works primarily with language as her medium, in the form of printed text as well as installation and performance. Siri also holds a degree in musicology and has written music, art, and literature criticism for publications such as Nutida Musik, Paletten, and ETC. She places great value on using language to illuminate and contextualize art—whether through criticism, essays, panel discussions, or a conversation during the concert intermission.
